FAQs

What is a lash lift + tint?

A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that enhances your natural lashes by lifting and curling them from the root, creating the look of longer, more defined lashes without extensions. A tint can be added to deepen the color for extra definition, giving a mascara-like finish that lasts for weeks.

How long do results last after a lash lift + tint?

Results typically last 6–8 weeks, depending on your lash growth cycle and aftercare. As your natural lashes shed and new ones grow in, the lift gradually relaxes. Regular maintenance every 6–8 weeks helps keep your lashes consistently lifted and darkened.

Is a lash lift + tint safe for my natural lashes?

Yes. When performed by a trained professional using high-quality solutions, a lash lift + tint is safe for your natural lashes. At Skin + Care Esthetics, your treatment is customized for your lash length, strength, and sensitivity to maintain lash health and prevent over-processing. Clients are recommended to maintain the health and strength of their lashes in between treatments by using a lash serum of their choice. You can always refer to a dermatologist to get clarity on which lash serums are effective.

Can I wear makeup after my lash lift + tint?

You should avoid getting your lashes wet or applying makeup, creams, or serums for 24–48 hours after your appointment. Once that period passes, you can wear makeup as usual—though most clients find they don’t need mascara thanks to the natural lift and color. Avoid using makeup removers that are oil-based as these can impact the results from the lifting solution. Water-based makeup removers are perfectly fine after the recommended wait time.

Can I get a lash lift + tint if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes—these treatments are generally safe, but hormone fluctuations during pregnancy may cause results to vary. If you’re in your first trimester or have heightened sensitivity, you may want to postpone or schedule a patch test first to ensure comfort. Always consult with your physician to determine if a lash lift + tint is something you can do.

Can I get a lash lift + tint if I've recently had lash extensions or a lash perm?

If you’ve recently had lash extensions removed, it’s best to wait at least 6–8 weeks or until your natural lashes have fully shed and recovered before scheduling a lift. The same applies if you’ve had a previous lash perm—your lashes should be free of residual curl or damage first.

What's the difference between a lash lift + tint and lash extensions?

Lash extensions involve individually applying synthetic lashes to your natural ones for added length, volume, and drama. They create a more noticeable, makeup-ready look but require regular fills and specialized aftercare to maintain. A Lash Lift + Tint, on the other hand, enhances your natural lashes without extensions or adhesives. The lift gently curls your existing lashes upward for a bright, open-eye effect, while the tint adds depth and definition — similar to the look of curled, mascara-coated lashes. Results typically last 6–8 weeks with little to no maintenance, making it a great option for clients who prefer a natural, low-effort enhancement.

Do I need to remove my contacts before a lash lift + tint?

Yes — it’s best to remove contact lenses before any lash treatment, including a Lash Lift, Tint, or Lift + Tint. During the service, your eyes will be closed for an extended period, and solutions are applied close to the lash line. Removing contacts helps prevent potential irritation or dryness and ensures your comfort throughout the treatment. You can reinsert them once the service is complete.

What is a brow lamination + tint?

Brow lamination is a semi-permanent treatment that relaxes and reshapes the brow hairs, allowing them to be brushed into a fuller, more defined shape. It helps correct uneven growth patterns and gives the appearance of thicker, lifted brows without the need for daily styling. A tint can be added to enhance color, depth, and definition.

How long do results last after a brow lamination + tint?

Results typically last 6–8 weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle and how well you care for your brows post-treatment. As new hairs grow in, your brows will gradually return to their natural texture and position.

Is brow lamination safe for my skin and brows?

Yes—when performed correctly, it’s a safe and gentle process. At Skin + Care Esthetics, high-quality professional products are used and carefully timed to protect both the hair and surrounding skin. Each lamination is tailored to your brow density, texture, and sensitivity level.

Can I wear makeup after my brow lamination + tint?

Avoid applying makeup, oils, or creams directly to the brows for 24–48 hours after treatment. Once that window passes, you can resume your normal routine—though most clients find they need little to no makeup thanks to the natural lift and definition. Avoid oil-based makeup removers as these can interrupt the lamination results. Water-based makeup removers are fine after the recommended wait time.

Can I get a brow lamination + tint while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, though hormone changes may affect how your brows lift or how well the tint holds. A patch test is recommended for sensitive clients or during pregnancy to ensure no irritation occurs. Always consult with your physician to determine if a brow lamination + tint is safe during your pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Can I get a brow lamination if I've recently tinted, waxed, or microbladed my brows?

If you’ve recently waxed or tinted your brows, wait at least 48–72 hours before lamination to avoid irritation. If you’ve had microblading or another semi-permanent brow procedure, wait at least 6–8 weeks and ensure the skin is fully healed before scheduling.

What should I do/not do before and after my lash or brow service?

Please refer to the Pre + Post Care Guide.

Stay consistent with your recommended Glymed+ home care routine, protect with SPF daily, and avoid picking or over-exfoliating. Your esthetician can update your routine each season.
