Oxygen+ Peel

45+ minutes | $125+

The Oxygen+ Peel is a rejuvenating professional resurfacing treatment that blends the gentle exfoliating power of Lactic Acid with oxygen-boosting botanicals to revitalize tired, lackluster skin. This advanced formula enhances oxygen diffusion within the skin—breathing life back into dull, damaged, or congested cells for a visibly brighter and smoother complexion. Arabinogalactans derived from botanicals help firm, tone, and improve elasticity, while active Bio-Oxygen technology promotes natural regeneration and hydration. Ideal for those experiencing dullness, breakouts, or uneven texture, this treatment works to minimize pores, refine skin tone, and restore a youthful glow without irritation or downtime. The Oxygen+ Peel leaves the skin renewed, balanced, and refreshed—revealing a softer, more radiant finish that feels as healthy as it looks. A consultation is required prior to the first peel. FAQs

What is a professional peel?

A professional peel is a controlled exfoliation treatment designed to renew the skin’s surface and stimulate cellular turnover. Each peel uses a blend of professional-grade acids, enzymes, and antioxidants to target specific concerns such as dullness, congestion, acne, uneven tone, or texture. Treatments are customized to your skin type and tolerance for a safe, effective glow.

What can a peel do for my skin?

Peels help dissolve dead skin buildup, refine pores, smooth rough texture, and reveal brighter, more even skin. Over time, they can improve fine lines, acne breakouts, and pigmentation—supporting overall skin health and radiance. Regular treatments can also enhance product absorption and maintain long-term results.

What's the difference between an enzyme peel and a chemical peel?

Enzyme peels use fruit-based and plant-based enzymes to gently digest surface buildup, ideal for sensitive or first-time clients. Chemical peels use acids such as lactic, glycolic, or salicylic to penetrate deeper and correct specific concerns. Both are customized at Skin + Care Esthetics to ensure safe, balanced results.

How often should I get a peel?

A series of peels is often recommended for the best results. Most clients benefit from treatments every 4–6 weeks, depending on skin type, sensitivity, and goals. For more corrective work, a short series spaced 2–3 weeks apart may be advised initially, then followed by regular maintenance.

Is there downtime with a peel?

Most peels performed at Skin + Care Esthetics have little to no downtime. You may experience temporary redness, warmth, or tightness immediately after, which typically subsides within a few hours. Some clients experience mild flaking or dryness as the skin renews itself, while others see no visible shedding. The level of exfoliation depends on the strength and type of peel used. Even if you don’t physically peel, your skin is still benefiting from increased cell turnover and improved clarity.

Can I get a peel if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Certain enzyme-based or lactic peels can be modified for pregnancy-safe use, but stronger corrective or chemical peels are not recommended. Always disclose your pregnancy or breastfeeding status with your esthetician when booking so your treatment can be safely adjusted. Always consult with your physician to determine if a peel is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Can I get a peel after laser, microneedling, or cosmetic injections?

Your skin must be fully healed before scheduling a peel. Wait at least 2-4 weeks after laser or microneedling before receiving a peel. These treatments make the skin barrier more sensitive and you don't want to disrupt the healing process in between treatments. Wait at least 2-3 weeks after cosmetic injections (neuromodulators or filler) before receiving a peel. Always consult with your cosmetic injector or provider to get appropriate timing recommendations between treatments. Always let your esthetician know if you have treatments scheduled so we can plan and tailor your peel to be safe and comfortable.

Can I get a peel if I'm using retinol or acne medication?

You’ll need to discontinue retinol, tretinoin, differin gel, AHAs, BHAs, or other exfoliating products at least 5–7 days before your peel. Clients on Accutane (isotretinoin) must wait at least 6–12 months after completing treatment before receiving any professional peel or exfoliating service. Always consult with your dermatologist to determine timing recommendations.

Can I wear makeup after my peel?

It’s best to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after receiving a peel to allow your skin to breathe and fully absorb the treatment’s benefits. If you need to apply makeup, choose clean, non-comedogenic, mineral-based formulas and avoid heavy coverage. Make sure to clean and sanitize any makeup brushes before application to avoid irritation or infection.

Do I need to remove my makeup before I arrive for my appointment?

No need, cleansing is always the first step before any peel is applied.

Can I get a peel if I have a sunburn, even mild, or recent sun exposure?

No. You should wait until your skin has fully healed and any redness, sensitivity, or peeling from sun exposure has resolved. Receiving a peel on sunburned or freshly tanned skin can cause irritation, uneven results, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It’s best to avoid unprotected sun exposure for at least 7–10 days before and after your treatment, and to wear broad-spectrum SPF daily to maintain your results safely.

Will my skin purge after I get a peel?

It’s possible. Some clients experience a mild purge after their first few peels, especially if they’re prone to congestion or acne. As your skin begins to shed dead cells and impurities, small breakouts may appear for a few days. This is temporary and part of the renewal process. Keeping up with your aftercare routine—hydration, gentle cleansing, and no picking—will help your skin rebalance and reveal a clearer, smoother complexion.

What's the best way to maintain results between visits?

Stay consistent with your recommended GlyMed Plus home care routine, protect with SPF daily, and avoid picking or over-exfoliating. Your esthetician can update your routine each season.

What should I do/not do before and after my peel?
